Disagreement on appointing guardian for our kids?

My husband and I can not reach to an agreement on whom to appoint as a guardian for our minion kids. So we are each making a separate will and naming different persons. In case of our Simultaneous Death, whose preferred guardian should take over? Your help would be appreciated.
