Embarrassing scars all over my outer arms - Any suggestions to reduce them please?

i've had Eczema since 3rd grade and the scars have lasted for 8 years! whenever i go out in public, i have to wear long sleeves or a jacket...even when it's 90 degrees outside. and its also for avoiding scar darkening from the sun. if i DO wear short sleeves, everyone stares and it makes me uncomfortable. i'm so tired of dealing with this. any suggestions [home remedies, food, over-the-counter stuff]? i've tried Mederma - it's a slow progress. and i'm thinking about laser treatment when i grow older...if i could afford it.
