Stealth Archer or Battlemage? (Oblivion)?

Ive created and deleted about 15 characters now in Oblivion because I'm confused on what kind of character to make as my main character (Take all the way through the game, expansions, get very high level, top rank in guilds, etc.) Which would be more fun or easier to make as a main character? An archer assassin that attacks from the shadow or a Battlemage that uses magic from a distance and a blade when the fight gets up close with a summoned minion thrown in?
